Mac OS X Install Procedures for iMo Touch
This page will help guide you through the process of installing the necessary drivers to operate the iMo Touch monitor with your Intel-based Macintosh Computer.
First check that your computer meets the following system requirements:
- Intel-Based Macintosh Computer (No PowerPC-Based Machines are compatible)
- Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger), Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard). We recommend that you update your system to the latest point release of Mac OS X before installing any drivers.
- The DisplayLink display driver software (provided on disk). We recommend that you download the latest version of this software (free download) directly from DisplayLink.com.
- The TouchKit touchscreen software provided on disk.
Why do I need to install drivers to make my Mimo monitor work? It is true that most USB-based devices will work in plug-n-play fashion on your Mac, however, iMo monitors use special DisplayLink™ technology to stream display signals over your USB connection. Macintosh computers do not have the necessary drivers pre-installed to support this technology.
Installation Steps
- Quit all running applications
- Always install the DisplayLink display driver first. If your model does not have touchscreen capability (iMo Pivot), you do not have to install any other software.
- Restart your computer.
- Plug your iMo monitor into your computer using the supplied USB cable. If your monitor doesn’t seem to be receiving enough power, plug in the 2nd USB cable into an available port. If the monitor does not turn on, try flipping the power button on the back of the device. Some devices come with a power button integrated into the USB cable, try pressing the button on the cable if you have such a cable. Once the iMo monitor is on and showing an image, proceed to the next step only if you have a touchscreen monitor (If you have an iMo Pivot, you are finished).
- Install the TouchKit Software installer provided on disk.
- Restart your computer
Configuration Steps
The TouchKit Software installer adds two applications to your Applications folder: TouchKit.app and TPMon.app. To configure your iMo Touch for use, make sure your iMo is connected and the display is on.
- Launch the TouchKit.app application.
- Click the “Advanced Button” just above the Quit button.
- In the Advanced dialogue box, click the “TPMon Setting” Tab (right-most tab).
- You should see your monitors including the iMo Touch represented by blue rectangles in the dialogue box window. Click on the blue box representing the iMo Touch (usually the smaller box) so that the box is framed in red (see image above).
- Click the checkbox next to “Enable TPMon”.
- You can now close or quit the Advanced dialogue box.
- Click “4 pts Cal” (4 point calibration) in the main TouchKit dialogue box.
- When prompted, touch the iMo touch screen in each corner. Press hard and do not release until the text on the screen acknowledges your push. When you are finished, you can quit the TouchKit software. Leave the TPMon software running. If the TPMon software is not running, launch the TPMon software.
- Installation and Configuration is now complete.
